SWMS is a document that sets out the high-risk construction work activities to be carried out on a construction site, the hazards arising from these activities and the measures to be put in place to control the risks. All high-risk construction companies must have a SWMS in place as per WHS legislation. Safety Management Consultants will help you develop your SWMS to meet your safety obligations.
If you are not sure of the line between high-risk construction and low to medium risk, please reach out and we will assist you.
There are penalties set by WorkSafe ACT if you do not have a SWMS in place:
- If you do not have a SWMS – WorkSafe ACT could stop you from working or fine you or your principal contractor and
- If you don’t have a quality SWMS – WorkSafe ACT could stop you from working or fine you or your principal contractor
